This porcelain plate, from Museum Collections, features a Norman Rockwell painting, which first appeared on the cover of Life Magazine for Nov 11, 1920. It depicts a young boy playing a whistle as a young girl and dog listen to his performance.
The back of the plate includes the following words:
The strained, yet sweet notes from his flute are magic. His young girlfriend and pet dog sit silently, mystified by his performance. For their young ears, he is a music master.
This plate was issued in 1986. It measures 6.5" in diameter and it is trimmed in 24k gold. It does not come in any original packaging.
