Ivy & Innocence
Ivy & Innocence is a range of collectibles from Cast Art Industries. Based on the ideas and artwork of Susan Reader, it is a Victorian Village collection of buildings, people and accessories.

The Ivy village was officially introduced at the AmericasMart Gift Market Show in January 1997, where the first Ivy cottage won an award for excellence in conception, design and creation. The Ivy booth also won the first place booth award. It was here that Cast Art approached Susan, leading to a licensing agreement. The Ivy & Innocence trademark was filed in February 1997 and the collection finally began to take off and grow.

Ivy buildings and accessories are reminiscent of French country villages, quaint and somewhat whimsical. They are usually draped with climbing Ivy vines and colorful flowers, exuding a romantic and carefree atmosphere.

An interesting feature of the Ivy & Innocence collection is the combination, not just of figurines and cottages, but of interesting back stories, intended to bring life to the town and characters.

A seaside village, called Ivy Cove, was added to the collection in August 1999. A short distance from the village of Ivy, Ivy Cove is a rugged little fishing town, offering a contrasting, yet complementary setting for the local inhabitants. Shortly after this release, Cast Art announced the first retirements from the collection, to retire at the end of 1999.

When Cast Art merged with Papel Giftware in 2000, Ivy & Innocence got a little lost in the shuffle. The merger did not go as planned and the Papel brand was resold to the original owners in 2003. The lack of focus to get Ivy & Innocence established, combined with some family and health issues Susan was experiencing, led to the end of the collection in the early 2000s.

A collector's club, called Friends of Ivy, was started to provide news and special offers to collectors. A subscription included a membership figurine, a quarterly newsletter, called the Ivy Vine, and access to exclusive members-only offers.

In May of 2015, Susan Reader launched a Kickstarter campaign to resurrect the collection. The Kickstarter proved to be a little ambitious, covering both figurine and storybook production, and Susan made the decision to cancel it midway. She re-launched a more streamlined Kickstarter campaign on October 24, 2015, which unfortunately failed to fund. This Kickstarter, Return to Ivy & Innocence ~ A Magical Story of Wonderment, was intended to produce storybooks based on the world of Ivy & Innocence and featuring Susan's artwork.
