The Alms Houses is a series of houses built for the poor, elderly and sick before there was a system of social security measures to help these people. You will notice that no chimneys are present in the sculpture. This is because a new heating system was prototyped in this type of housing using a single boiler and piped hot water fed to internal radiators.
This David Winter cottage was introduced in 1983 and retired in 1987. It measures 4.25" tall and 7" wide.
Unfortunately, this particular cottage no longer has its original packaging and it has a few prominent paint chips and nicks on the roof edges. These can be clearly seen in the pictures.
