This Hummel figurine is actually a savings bank. It comes with a metal lock and key and depicts a young girl depositing a coin into a type of poor box that was commonly used by churches throughout Europe.
This piece was first modeled in 1939 by Arthur Moeller and restyled in 1963. This particular one is 5” tall and bears the TMK6 trademark. It is also signed by both Helmut Fischer, Goebel Master Sculptor, and Gunther Neubauer, now retired Goebel Master Sample Painter. The signatures are dated 9.13.86.
