This Hummel figurine portrays a young boy sitting on a stool and reading the newspaper. It was first modeled by Arthur Moeller in 1946 and restyled in the 1960s.
This particular figurine is one of the oldest, bearing the incised TMK1 trademark (the Goebel crown), which dates it between 1935 and 1950. It also has the square base that was used during this period (later changed to a circular base).
This 5" tall figurine was produced with various names used for the newspaper, but this one is titled "Das Allerneueste" (roughly translates as "the latest news").
