This Goebel figurine depicts a member of the French National Guard of 1757. In full uniform, he stands relaxed holding his rifle on the ground and a hand on his hip.
This 7.5” tall figurine was sculpted by Gerhard Skrobek in 1963 and bears his signature on the base. It is marked with the Goebel TMK4 (three-line-bee) trademark, indicating production between 1964 and 1972. The ‘LF’ in the model number indicates this figurine was made for the French market.
There is a little light crazing visible on the upper side of the base, but it is otherwise in excellent condition.
