This Goebel porcelain figurine is one of a series of several Napoleonic figurines. It depicts a French foot artillery soldier from 1805. He is wearing a shako (cylindrical military headwear), which was later replaced with a bearskin hat.
This 8.5” tall figurine was designed by Gerhard Bochmann in 1968 and bears the Goebel TMK5 trademark, indicating production in the mid-1970s.
There is a tiny flake of red paint missing from the front brim of his cap and the areas of black paint show some deterioration, which is not unusual for this type of finish.
